Sustainable bathroom design by KALDEWEI in the Vagabundo Tiny House

Some of you have probably already noticed via social media, our longest partner in the construction and design of our model house #vagabundoflex is the company KALDEWEI from Ahlen, just 119km away from the production site in Twistetal.

In KALDEWEI we have found our ideal partner for bathroom fittings. Quality and sustainability are important components of the philosophy of the company, which is over 100 years old. Steel enamel, a combination of steel and glass, can be used to create very durable but also visually appealing products. Longevity and recyclability are important properties that we have also planned for our Vagabundo Tiny House.

With the wooden frame construction of our Vagabundo Tiny House, we enable the use of sustainable and above all renewable raw materials. On the other hand, almost only mono materials are used during construction, i.e. they can be separated at the end of their lifetime. But raw materials alone do not necessarily make construction sustainable. Only the possibility of using it over several generations and adapting to changing circumstances makes a property truly sustainable. The living comfort is decisive!

At the beginning of our partnership with KALDEWEI, we were invited to the company headquarters in Ahlen, where we were able to visit the production site and the showroom, the KALDEWEI Iconic World. Our impression was clear pretty quickly: As industrial engineers, Michael and Andi immediately noticed the accuracy and cleanliness in production, coupled with the latest technology. In the KALDEWEI Iconic World we got to see all the products that we were able to put through their paces.

In the next step, the KALDEWEI team came to Twistetal together with Sandra Hunke and the two selected products were installed. We opted for the SUPERPLAN ZERO for the shower area, which scored with barrier-free accessibility, an even gradient and a seamless design. We chose the color Cool Gray 90 for the shower surface. Individuality can be incorporated here, because it doesn't always have to be classic white.

We chose the MIENA washbasin bowl as the washbasin bowl, which convinced us with its filigree, simple design and compatibility with our fittings. Here, too, we could choose from a wide variety of colors and we also decided on the matt color Cool Gray 90.

If you would like to see the products from KALDEWEI in combination with our Vagabundo Flex Tiny Houses yourself, you can make an appointment here to view the model house in Munich. Otherwise, we can also highly recommend viewing the KALDEWEI products at a bathroom exhibitor in your area.
