More and more people are probably asking themselves this question, recently certainly also driven by the enormously increased real estate prices and rising inflation.
Requirements for your property
In most European countries and definitely in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, a tiny house has to be placed on a building plot just like a conventional house, even if it is mobile. These are plots of land that are located in the interior of a municipality, i.e. within the designated building area of a municipality. The outside area, i.e. forests, meadows, agricultural areas or rivers and lakes, is not permitted for the construction of buildings. This is due to the increasing sealing of land, nature conservation and the already high level of urban sprawl in Germany. All absolutely justified reasons, because in the last few centuries man has appropriated a lot of previously natural areas.
3 tips on how to find the perfect tiny house plot - away from the classic Google search!
Offline search - search for your property away from the usual media on the Internet, but also use older methods such as newspaper advertisements or bulletin boards in supermarkets or in the municipal office. Older people in particular often advertise their properties in this way and there is only limited competition offline.
On-site search - It often helps to get an idea on site and to approach the residents directly and to get information in a direct conversation. At the local football game, at the wine festival or at the weekly market, you may get valuable information about who currently has land for sale or to lease.
Create a search request - You can place a search on the well-known real estate websites or on platforms such as Ebay classifieds or Quoka and use filters to adjust parameters such as price or postcode.
Social Media - It often helps to upload a post or story to social media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram in which you ask your network for knowledge of suitable tiny house plots. If they then also share your post, you have all the more chances of finding the right contact person.
Facebook Groups - Join one of the many groups on Facebook and check regularly for new posts. Maybe the right property for you will appear soon!
Another tip. Make the call immediately without hesitation and don't put off anything. Ads are often only placed for a few hours, as hundreds of interested parties contact us immediately!
